Fish. (Curtis X Reader)

A/N: So, to be honest, I had no idea who this character was before my dear laurasanya requested this fic, and it's a birthday present for you! So hopefully it's alright! :$ I haven't caught up to B2W2, so maybe after playing, I'll be a little more familiar with him. Also, I don't think anything in here is considered NSFW, though partially implied (surprise!) so yeah, ehe. Anywho, enjoy! C:

"Curtis, are we there yet?" You sighed, hoisting the bag strap over your shoulder and stepping over another large tree branch.
"Almost, I promise!" The boy flashed a grin back at you.
It wasn't that you didn't like the outdoors, but it felt like you'd been trudging through the mud for hours.
But it was Curtis' favourite hobby, and you wanted to spend time with him.

Besides, after an hour-long drive singing along to the radio at the top of your lungs, maybe fresh air was a bit of a good thing.

"You gotta go deep in the woods for the good spots!" He sang, finally dropping his things on the ground and stretching his arms.
"It is beautiful." You remarked upon reaching the clearing.

The sun shone past the trees onto the glittering surface of the lake, where you noticed many types of aquatic flowers.
The sound of the water gently flowing filled your ears, as well as the various echoes of wild Pokemon calls.

"Welcome to my secret fishing spot!" Curtis laughed, handing you a fishing pole with bait, "Shall we begin?"

You'd gone fishing a few times before, so you knew your way around the water.
At the same time, you cast your lines into the water and decided to wait for a bit.

"I wish fishing was easier. Like, if something caught on your line, an exclamation mark would appear over your head or something." You sighed.
"That takes the fun out of things, silly." Curtis nudged you playfully as the two of you lounged on a pair of large rocks.
"Well, how about we make a bet? First one to catch something gets to tell the other person what to do." You suggested playfully.
He immediately agreed, re-casting his line.
"Alright, (Y/N). But don't say I didn't warn you."

It had only been a few minutes since you'd made the bet when you felt a tug on your end.
The pull was gentle at first, but suddenly jerked you forward as the line began to extend.
"Looks like I'm going to win! Help me reel this in!"
You grunted, planting your feet on the surface of the rock. Definitely tougher than you'd expected.

Suddenly, the creature on the other end whipped you forward.
Just as you were about to fall over into the water, a pair of strong arms wrapped around you and helped you pull.

"Curtis! Tha-- WHOA!"
Another pull caused the two of you to trip forward and fall in the water.
After blinking a few times, all you could see was a Magikarp jumping out of the water with your bait in its mouth and the snapped line trailing behind it.

"(Y/N), are you alright?" You noticed that upon falling, the two of you seemed to be quite tangled yourselves.
"E-eh! I'm fine."
The water was shallow, but you hadn't gotten injured. You brushed the rocks and sand off of your hands.

"Well, I guess you came the closest to winning." He admitted, shrugging.
You had to pause for a moment to watch the way the water dripped down from his gleaming hair to his face.
Not to mention how built of a body he had, you noticed, as the water caused his clothes to stick tightly to his form.

"I guess since I'm all cold and wet, you can help warm me up..." You shrugged with a bite of your lip.
"That won't be a problem at all." He picked you up bridal-style, taking you to a much more private spot in the woods, "Now let's dry those clothes off first, shall we?~"
